This baby announcement session at the beach was sooo sweet. Maria and I have been friends since high school so when she told me of this secret I was absolutely thrilled for her! Maria and Don were on vacation down here in Charleston and the night we were going to meet up she wasn’t feeling well. I totally understood because I wasn’t feeling the greatest either so I chalked it up to normal vaca slump. Little did I know that a couple of hours later she would surprise me and tell me that they had a baby on the way and that’s why she wasn’t feeling her best!! She knew immediately she wanted me to take her announcement photos so we planned a beach sesh at Isle of Palms around her twelve week mark. I loved their neutral outfits and how candid the entire session was. It was absolutely perfect!

When I first started doing photography I honestly only wanted to do weddings. Family sessions and maternity photos were not something I even considered. Now that more people close to me are starting families of their own, I have a new love for it, and I find it to be a creative outlet that’s so much different than wedding days, in a good way! It means the absolute world to me when anyone asks me to photograph such special moments in their lives, and especially from people I love. 

Maria made the big announcement on Mother’s Day a couple of weeks ago and just sent me another text yesterday saying how much she loves the photos! I CANNOT wait to meet this little one!
