As a wedding photographer based in Charleston, Legare Wearing house is one of my favorite venues to see come to life on a wedding day. Just last month I shot alongside my girl Shelby Stewart for a gorgeous early spring wedding day full of southern romance with a touch of a moody gothic atmosphere. The vibes were top tier considering the bride, Hannah, is apart of Charleston’s wedding planning team, Classic Planning and Design Co. – so you know it was going to be a hell of a party!
The Wedding Day
Some of the perks of the Legare Wearing House are the getting ready spaces they have for couples choosing to get married there. Everything is on sight which helps ease the stress of the day. There are also multiple locations for photo opportunities considering the property sits within the Charles Towne Landing and Historic sight. My favorite usage of space from this wedding is how and where Chelsye, Intrigue Events Owner & Planner, decided to put the cocktail hour set up. It was the perfect way to have guests in a separate area and enjoy some drinks under the live oak tree, while the rest of the Intrigue team prepared the final details of the reception space.
The inside of the tented reception space is my favorite part of this entire day. At Legare Wearing house, couples do have to have a tented set up, but this was one that curated an aesthetic that made you feel like you were in your own cozy place. I can’t speak highly enough of how well Chelsye and her team executed everything for this wedding day. From the color palette, to the plates, and linens – it all tied together in the best way. The Bride, Hannah, and her new husband, Bryce, were so pleasantly surprised with how the details came out. Their reactions enjoying it with friends and family are hard to beat.
